Standing Straight-Leg Hamstring Stretch

Execution Guide

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Extend one leg forward with the heel on the ground and toes pointing up.
  3. Hinge at the hips and reach toward the extended foot.
  4. Keep your back flat and feel the stretch in the back of the extended leg.
  5. Hold for 20-30 seconds and switch legs.

Range of Motion

Upright to hinged forward with a stretch in the hamstring.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ×Rounding the back instead of hinging at the hips
  • ×Bouncing into the stretch
  • ×Bending the knee of the extended leg
